The Spartanburg chapter of the ROUGHNECKS MC was chartered in 2006. One of the items in our national by-laws, is that each chapter become involved in some form of charity work and thereby give back to our community.
In the summer of 2006, several of our members were talking about the Roughnecks MC "charity" requirement. Our local members discussed several local charitable causes. Many of the local charitable causes already had fund raising in place.
The discussion about charitable causes gave rise to our focus on assisting REGIONAL HOSPICE. Each of our members had a story to tell about REGIONAL HOSPICE. Our local Roughnecks MC members agreed, either we had been touched by REGIONAL HOSPICE, or knew someone who had been touched by REGIONAL HOSPICE.
After further research, our members decided REGIONAL HOSPICE was our choice to assist fundraising. |
| Roughnecks Motorcycle Club Raises Donations For Spartanburg Regional Hospice? |
On August 27, 2011, Roughnecks MC completed a "RIDE FOR REGIONAL HOSPICE". This fundraiser involved an 85 mile ride through local cities and countryside to raise awareness and donation money in the Spartanburg / Greenville county areas.
Specific travel route information was made available to all participants. The purpose of that RIDE FOR REGIONAL HOSPICE was to raise donation money for the benefit of Spartanburg REGIONAL HOSPICE.
In support of our member's exciting donations, the local Roughnecks Motorcycle Club funded the purchase of a custom designed bike which was given away August 27, 2011.
The Roughnecks are focused on raising donations throughout the rest of 2011 and into 2012. Our year-long goal of raising money for Hospice will once again be underway in the next 30 days we will update you on this website to reveal our donation goals for 2011-2012. |
